Senior Technicians interface primarily between work center technicians and maintenance control prioritizing workload to ensure aircraft availability to meet squadron Flight Schedule tasking, accomplish CNAFINST 4790.2 (series) Naval Aviation Maintenance Program Standard Operating Procedures requirements within their assigned areas of responsibility and perform direct hands-on aircraft maintenance when required to meet mission needs or as directed by contractor Team Leads. Senior Technicians are primarily assigned as working technical subject matter experts on the hangar deck level performing hands-on maintenance actions as well as assignment of specific tasks to contractor personnel to meet operational needs. Shall have authority to direct work center personnel, of equal or lesser level, to accomplish specific maintenance actions as required to accomplish maintenance tasking in accordance with Department of Labor Skill Code definitions (responsible for providing guidance and technical expertise to lower level technicians throughout all aircraft modifications and/or maintenance efforts.) Some Senior Technicians will be assigned to Maintenance Control where they will be required to deal directly with flight crews, FTE’s, other Contractor Senior Technicians as well as coordinate the contractors within their assigned groups in the accomplishment of the daily Flight Schedule. Ensures all available personnel participate in the daily foreign object damage walk downs. Coordinate daily hangar/maintenance cleanliness/housekeeping issues. Routine lifting in excess of OSHA standards is required. Routine ordnance loading will require team lifts of ordnance items up to 167 pounds’ load share per team member, in accordance with standard USN procedures.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

*Candidates must have been released from military service with an Honorable Discharge to meet minimum qualifications.

  • Proficiency in the use of the Internet, personal computers, word processing, spreadsheet and graphics/presentation software, and other commonly used electronic communication tools.

  • Prior military Personnel with Aviation Ordnance, Parachute Rigger, and Aviation Maintenance Administration ratings will not be accepted to fill VX-31 Maintenance Control billets.

  • Possess an extensive background in the field of aircraft maintenance and material support with a minimum of 15 years of experience with 10 years of the last 15 years in direct aircraft maintenance repair, inspection, and modification.

  • A minimum of 10 years experience in ALSS leadership.

  • Of the ten years of experience in aircraft maintenance, six years shall be in a supervisory position that included responsibility for assigning program workloads as well as duties for entire shifts.

  • High school graduate or equivalent, plus successful completion of related military or commercial courses.

  • Capable of writing with clarify and technical accuracy.

  • Ability to obtain/maintain secret security clearance.

Hourly $54.24 USD
