Job Title: Production Worker
Location: Chilliwack, BC
Pay Rate: $22/hr
Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:00AM-4:30PM + Overtime on Fridays every second week.
Job Description
The production worker is responsible for assembling components on the production line to create high-quality products in a custom wood manufacturing environment. This role involves working closely with another builder to receive parts and accurately lay them up to form the structure before it is sent down the line for pressing and final assembly. It requires strong attention to detail, heavy lifting, the ability to maintain pace in a fast-moving manufacturing environment, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Important: This position requires reliable transportation - it is NOT transit accessible.
Responsibilities
Receive and stage door components such as stiles, rails, cores, and skins for assembly.
Align and position components accurately on the layup table according to product specifications.
Apply glue or adhesives as required to appropriate contact surfaces.
Fit, square, and secure components using hand or pneumatic tools to ensure proper bond and structure.
Inspect materials for defects, damage, or incorrect dimensions before and during assembly.
Maintain production speed to keep pace with the moving assembly line and meet daily output targets.
Ensure all assembled products meet quality standards for alignment, thickness, and overall build.
Collaborate with the opposite-side builder to synchronize component placement and maintain workflow.
Transfer completed door assemblies down the line for pressing and finishing operations.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation to support efficient manufacturing flow.
Essential Skills
6+ months general labor/construction/production experience, including repetitive tasks.
6+ months experience using a tape measure and working with saws or hand and power tools.
Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
Reliable transportation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Extensive hand and power tool experience.
Willingness to learn.
Team player attitude.
Machine operating experience.
Knowledge of equipment and ability to do basic troubleshooting.
Mechanically inclined.

Work Environment
You will be working in a custom wood manufacturing facility with approximately 80-100 employees, including 60 in assembly and production. The work involves long pants, long sleeve shirts, and safety gear such as ear plugs, safety glasses, and safety vests which are provided. The morning shift runs from Monday to Thursday, 6:00AM to 4:30PM, with mandatory overtime every second Friday for 5-6 hours. The facility supports end customers like Home Depot and various construction contracting companies.
