As a Commercial Lines Marketing Broker , you will be a key resource within our Commercial Lines team, leading the marketing and placement of a diverse portfolio of business across BC. You will work directly with insurance companies, MGAs, the Lloyds marketplace, and HUB offices across the region to secure preferred, competitive terms and innovative risk solutions for new and renewal business.
A day in the life –
Provide marketing support for all types of commercial placements within the BC region, including large, complex, and mid-market accounts.
Partner with producers and the Chief Sales Officer to provide strategic marketing support for HUB Top 200 and key Stewardship accounts.
Advise, mentor, and coach producers and servicers on market and coverage availability, policy wording interpretation, placement strategy, and commercial lines products.
Develop and maintain deep expertise in HUB’s existing programs, products, and market capabilities.
Collaborate with leadership and Sales to identify, develop, and launch niche coverage programs and specialty solutions.
Demonstrate strong technical proficiency in policy wordings and the nuanced differences between carriers.
Cultivate and maintain strong, active relationships with key insurers and MGA partners; attend insurer visits and industry events as required.
Engage regularly with HUB branches across BC to share market intelligence, build internal relationships, and promote the value of the Marketing department.
Participate actively in commercial lines meetings and contribute to team strategy.
Represent HUB at carrier and industry events, including occasional off-site engagements.
What You Bring To The Team –
Minimum 5 years of commercial insurance experience at an intermediate or senior level; commercial lines underwriting background is a strong asset.
Active Level 2 General Insurance License (BC).
Demonstrated expertise in commercial lines marketing, placement, and policy wording analysis across a broad range of risks and industries.
A drive and ownership to win the business.
Established relationships with commercial carriers, MGAs, and Lloyd’s market participants.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present solutions clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with strong critical thinking and attention to detail.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
CAIB, CIP, CRM designation (or active pursuit) preferred.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
Salary Expectations –
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000.00 to $100,000.00 and will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidate’s skills, experience, and the specific scope of the role.
