Sr Advanced AME Engineer
Identify, design and develop advanced manufacturing processes and industrialization strategies as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team. You will serve as a key technical focal point across Advanced Manufacturing Engineering teams supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs from concept development through the start of production.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with design engineering, sourcing, quality, and global manufacturing sites to ensure that new product designs can be manufactured cost effectively with high quality and scalability. You will influence manufacturing strategy, test development, process capability, and production readiness while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
As a senior technical leader, you will drive producibility reviews, manufacturing process design, and the deployment of production tooling and test equipment required to industrialize complex electronic products. Your work will directly impact product cost, yield performance, production ramp stability, and manufacturing efficiency.
You will leverage your advanced manufacturing engineering expertise to support product development teams, establish manufacturing standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing operations. This role also requires mentoring engineers and acting as a technical authority within manufacturing engineering.
This position requires strong technical leadership, structured problem solving, and the ability to lead cross-functional teams to successfully launch high-volume electronic products.
JOB DUTIES:
Lead manufacturing engineering activities supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
Act as liaison between Design Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure producibility and manufacturability of new product designs
Lead producibility and DFx reviews including PCB layout, mechanical design and assembly processes
Define manufacturing strategy including process flow, equipment requirements and factory readiness
Design and develop manufacturing processes including SMT assembly, mechanical assembly and test integration
Specify and deploy manufacturing tooling, fixtures, in-circuit test equipment and functional test systems
Develop manufacturing process documentation including build process flows and control plans
Analyze manufacturing capacity, cycle time and resource requirements
Monitor product yield performance and drive corrective actions to achieve required quality metrics
Collaborate with global R&D teams to develop manufacturing processes and test solutions that meet schedule, coverage and ramp requirements
Drive implementation of DFX methodologies including Design for Manufacturability, Assembly, Test and Cost
Lead cost reduction and value engineering initiatives across manufacturing and supply chain
Support engineering change reviews and implementation
Collaborate with global manufacturing sites and EMS partners during product industrialization
Mentor junior engineers, technicians and interns while providing technical leadership across projects
Support continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma programs
YOU MUST HAVE:
Significant experience in manufacturing engineering, producibility engineering or Advanced Manufacturing Engineering
Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs
Experience with high-volume electronics manufacturing environments
Experience working with cross-functional teams including design, quality and manufacturing
Advanced verbal & written English communication skills
Availability to travel 30% (VISA required)
WE VALUE:
Advanced knowledge of manufacturing engineering and industrialization processes
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering)
Experience with SMT assembly, PCB manufacturing and electronic product production
Experience working with EMS / ODM manufacturing partners
Experience implementing DFM, DFA and DFT methodologies
Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma certification
Strong leadership and project management capabilities
Ability to influence cross-functional teams to drive optimal outcomes
Strong analytical problem solving skills
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in fast-paced environments
Ability to make timely decisions in complex and ambiguous situations
