OPEE Specialist Department: DPW - Recreation - OPEE Summer Adventures Employment Status: Chapter 7 Ordinance, Non-Exempt, Seasonal (Hours As Needed/Varies) Salary: \$19.00/Hour Schedule: Schedule: Mon - Fri, 7:30 AM - 4:30 PM Certifications/Licenses Required: Massachusetts Class D Driver\'s License (with insurable driving record), Certifications in Adult/Pediatric First Aid and C.P.R./A.E.D. SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s Recreation Division - OPEE Summer Adventures is hiring an OPEE Specialist who will provide skill-based instruction in Arts & Crafts and/or Sports. Plan, direct, instruct and supervise all children in the area of expertise. Oversee groups in all types and forms of activities. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE: Plan out activities that are suitable for children based on their age. Direct and instruct all children in a variety of activities. Supervise the children in all aspects. Develop routines and schedules prior to the week\'s beginning. Motivate and assign staff to aid and participate when needed. Take responsibility for all supplies and materials that are provided. Maintain and review records and evaluations of program. Aids in the supervision of children on field trips and camp wide activities. Define and monitor crisis management plan, including emergency procedures. Monitor safety and all procedures as they pertain to the complete supervision of activities. Help provide an atmosphere for developing good morale and well-being. These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassigned and other duties may be assigned as required. QUALIFICATIONS Massachusetts Class D Driver\'s License (with insurable driving record. - Required Certifications in Adult/Pediatric First Aid and C.P.R./A.E.D. - Required College Degree - Preferred Age 18+ At least one (1) year of experience in camp setting. - Required Experience in the selected field of specialization.
