Freelance Technical Project Manager(4-6 Month Contract, Full-Time Potential)\ Location:Hybrid - Downtown Chicago (Onsite Tues-Thurs)\ Schedule:8:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.\ Salary Range if Converted to Full Time:\$90-95K\ \ Our association client is seeking a Freelance Technical Project Manager to support projects for their member education hub platform for a 4-6 month engagement, with the opportunity to transition into a full-time role for the right candidate. This position is ideal for an experienced project manager with a strong technical foundation and hands-on experience supporting web-based content and digital initiatives.\ \ You will join a collaborative team of three, supporting complex digital projects including education hub modules, AI-driven content, podcasts, live event assets, and backend publishing workflows. The ideal candidate has strong UI/UX understanding, familiarity with system integrations, and the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage multiple medium-complexity projects simultaneously, ensuring they are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
• Build and maintain project plans, timelines, documentation, status reports, and issue logs.
• Define project scope, secure stakeholder alignment, and manage day-to-day workflow operations.
• Proactively identify project risks, process gaps, and improvement opportunities; propose and implement solutions.
• Maintain accurate project documentation, including meeting notes, deliverable acceptance, and change orders.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to move initiatives forward.
• Ensure all content and digital products meet organizational quality, compliance, and brand standards.
• Facilitate alignment on timelines, responsibilities, and cross-project dependencies across teams.
• Monitor stakeholder satisfaction through clear communication and consistent follow-up.

\ Requirements

• 5+ years of technical project management experience
• BS or BA degree required, discipline in business, information technology, computer science or related field preferred
• PMP certification strongly preferred
• Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall environments
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook)
• Experience using project tracking tools (Asana, Smartsheet, MS Project, etc.)
• Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills; ability to produce business analysis and process documentation
• Experience supporting web-based content, system integrations, or UI/UX workflows
• Experience with online education or eLearning platforms is a plus
