RWE Americas Sr. Flex. Solutions Projects Development Associate in Chicago, Illinois

RWE Americas, LLC

To start as soon as possible, full time, permanent

Who is RWE? RWE is a global energy company and one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies with the goal of investing billions of dollars in the U.S. in the next decade.

We are expanding our Project Development team to serve the growing demand for energy from large load customers in the United States. This includes originating and developing sites for data center load customers, and combining gas-fired power generation with our core business of power generation through solar, wind, and battery storage. RWE develops, owns, and operates all generation assets, while taking care of development steps only for the data center site, including land, electrical interconnection, utilities and permits, thereby accelerating the customers’ speed to interconnection and power. The Project Development team closely collaborates with other internal functions (e.g., utility-scale renewable development) and external stakeholders to identify and develop the best sites for our expanding project portfolio. The VP Project Development oversees all project development activities from project origination to taking financial investment decisions for data center sites and natural gas generation assets.

We are looking for individuals with experience in energy infrastructure project development, specifically natural gas development expertise, while other experience, e.g. in renewables, data center or other conventional generation is a plus. If you’re excited about helping RWE to expand its portfolio to serve new market needs, we look forward to speaking with you.

  • Analyze financial assumptions and run preliminary pro forma or techno-economic models for project valuations

  • Draft internal investment memorandums or project review documents for senior team validation

  • Support stakeholder communications, including early community engagement and local government outreach

  • Assist in regulatory filings, including water rights, natural gas, fiber, and environmental permits

Job Requirements and Experience:
