Job Title: On-Site Project Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated On-Site Project Manager who will be accountable for the overall execution, completion, and financial performance of medium-sized construction projects. This role requires providing jobsite leadership and partnering with corporate safety teams to develop and implement project safety plans.
Responsibilities
Provide leadership and support for the development and implementation of project safety plans.
Develop and manage project controls, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure contract compliance.
Establish and oversee change management processes and project financial forecasting to meet contractual requirements.
Create and execute project-specific quality and closeout plans aligned with contract documents.
Lead, motivate, and manage project teams, including superintendents, engineers, and project administration staff.
Train and mentor direct reports on processes, procedures, and daily operational responsibilities.
Support subcontracting strategy by developing scopes of work and ensuring integrity throughout the buyout process.
Implement and enforce contract requirements, including drafting contracts, agreements, and purchase orders.
Coordinate insurance and bonding enrollment and ensure trade contractor compliance.
Provide planning support, including estimating select bid packages and contributing to GMP development.
Perform constructability reviews and coordination reviews throughout the project lifecycle.
Develop and manage CPM schedules and prepare monthly schedule updates.
Collaborate with business development to support client relationships, pursuits, and performance.
Manage workload, performance, and development of direct reports in alignment with company standards.
Foster an inclusive, positive work environment that promotes engagement and accountability.
Communicate company and departmental strategy effectively to project teams.
Essential Skills
Strong understanding of construction project management principles and jobsite operations.
Ability to manage project financials, forecasting, and change management processes.
Experience with CPM scheduling and project controls.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to build, motivate, and develop high-performing teams.
Strong emotional intelligence with the ability to manage relationships and navigate complex team dynamics.
Strategic mindset with the ability to assess risks, opportunities, and long-term project impacts.
Ability to delegate effectively, set priorities, and hold teams accountable for results.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with operations, safety, and business development teams.
Proficiency with industry-standard construction software and Microsoft Office tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
5–10 years of relevant construction project management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven experience running and estimating self-perform work with either a self-performing General Contractor or subcontractor.
Deep knowledge of labor productivity and what it truly takes for trades to successfully build work in the field.
Hands-on experience working with the trades, including a solid understanding of union job sites and the distinctions between various craft roles.
Work Environment
This role will initially be based on a Casino project, followed by a transition to Kankakee. You will work on a variety of projects at a time. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $115000.00 - $160000.00/yr.
