Job Title:

New Model Program Engineer (Automotive Manufacturing)

Overview / Summary:

The New Model Program Engineer plays a critical role in the successful launch of new vehicle and powertrain models within North America manufacturing plants. This position is responsible for overall program management and delivery, ensuring execution across all launch phases, including issue resolution, quality and status assessments, vehicle fleet management, and adherence to budget and timing targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Serve as a key gatekeeper for New Model Programs, ensuring adherence to established processes and standards throughout the launch lifecycle

• Manage and oversee all pre-production build activities to meet program objectives for quality and efficiency

• Manage ordering, building, testing, and disposition of pre-production vehicles, including execution of the Pre-Production Drive Fleet Evaluation Plan

• Oversee approval and integration of Product Development design changes ahead of prototype builds

• Lead issue management processes across cross-functional teams, driving timely resolution of launch-impacting problems

• Co-chair launch meetings and proactively resolve part support issues for pre-production build events

• Manage launch budget approval processes and execute elements within the overall program budget

• Prepare and present weekly program assessment reports, highlighting status and risks

• Communicate program status, challenges, and solutions to senior management

• Support integration and transition of launch teams into manufacturing plants

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 4+ years of experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project

• 2+ years of experience in problem-solving using statistical approaches

• 1+ years of experience in powertrain/vehicle operations manufacturing, design, and/or program management, including project management or launch experience

• Program management skills, including managing issue lists and working with cross-functional teams
