Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to work on industrial baking equipment, performing preventive maintenance and addressing breakdowns. The role requires expertise in mixers, ovens, chillers, conveyors, packaging equipment, baggers, servo motors, transfer systems, compressors, and more.
Responsibilities
Conduct preventive maintenance and repair on industrial baking equipment, including mixers, ovens, and conveyors.
Utilize volt meters to detect and troubleshoot electrical issues.
Read and reset HMIs to diagnose and resolve equipment problems.
Interpret VFDs and address related issues.
Disassemble and reassemble machinery as needed.
Document activities in the maintenance log.
Work on electrical components such as HMIs, VFDs, PLCs, as well as mechanical parts including sprockets, gears, shafts, and bearings.
Manage automation elements like sensors and photo eyes.
Maintain vertical baggers, cartoners, inkjet printers, and packaging equipment.
Handle bulk flour systems, transfer blowers, air-locks, divertor valves, and sifters.
Perform preventative maintenance on scheduled equipment.
Work on low voltage and 120-480vac equipment, including starters, motors, VFDs, sensors, controllers, and photo-eyes.
Install, debug, and stabilize plant equipment.
Read schematics and blueprints for troubleshooting electrical issues.
Repair and upgrade machinery to ensure proper operation.
Support installations and analysis of new electromechanical equipment.
Repair and calibrate hydraulic and pneumatic assemblies, metal detectors, and scales.
Test electro-mechanical assemblies with test instruments.
Fabricate guards using measuring devices, cutting tools, and welders.
Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment.
Essential Skills
3-5 years of electrical and mechanical experience.
Ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot using a volt meter.
Proficiency in swapping, repairing, and wiring motors for various equipment.
GMP experience.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
PLC programming and advanced troubleshooting skills.
Boiler (steam) maintenance experience.
Experience with welding - Stick and Tig.

Work Environment
Work shifts include 1st shift from 7AM to 3:30PM and 3rd shift from 11:00PM to 7AM. Technicians will work across four buildings on site, requiring some outdoor walking. Uniforms are provided after 90 days; before that, comfortable attire such as t-shirts and jeans is acceptable.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
