Job Description
As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for monitoring machines and performing corrective and preventative maintenance to ensure the smooth operation of production lines and equipment. Your role will involve working with conveyors, manipulators, PLCs, wiring control panels, and troubleshooting equipment up to 480 volts.
Responsibilities
Support production in reducing equipment and tooling downtime and scrap using analytical methodologies.
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment, tooling, and facilities as scheduled and complete required documentation.
Conduct repairs as needed, aiming for a mean time to repair of less than 30 minutes.
Assist in fabricating and implementing projects.
Maintain a healthy and safe work environment using MSDS and adhere to company and legal safety guidelines.
Document all maintenance activities and adhere to emergency evacuation guidelines.
Carry out additional responsibilities as deemed necessary by management.
Essential Skills
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
Proficiency with basic power and hand tools.
Experience with hot glue systems and basic rivet gun maintenance.
Knowledge of mechanical punches, pneumatic cylinders, and ultrasonic punching and welding.
Understanding of conveyors and variable frequency drives (VFD).
Basic electrical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot and wire by schematic.
Knowledge of proximity switches, laser sensors, servo motors, and VFDs.
Ability to set up basic parameters and understand motor start/stop circuits.
Experience with motors, PLCs, robotics, automation, and hydraulic systems.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
