CBRE Finance Manager in Chicago, Illinois

About the Role:

The Finance Manager, Strategic Finance, supports the Occupier Account business by delivering high quality financial insight, analysis, and decision support across complex client portfolios. This role is focused on analytical problem-solving, financial storytelling, and commercial support, partnering closely with account and operations leaders to inform planning, pricing, and performance decisions.

This position sits within Financial Strategy & Operations and is designed for a finance professional who thrives in a forward-looking, business-facing role rather than a traditional accounting or control environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with SOA account leadership to analyze financial performance, identify margin drivers, and surface risks and opportunities across strategic accounts.

  • Produce insight-driven financial analyses including trend analysis, scenario modeling, and profitability assessments to support planning and decision-making.

  • Translate financial results into clear, concise narratives that connect numbers to business outcomes and recommended actions.

  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes with an emphasis on future performance and account-level drivers.

  • Assist with pricing analysis and deal support for SOA pursuits, renewals, and scope expansions (experience preferred).

  • Develop executive-ready reporting and ad hoc analyses for senior account and finance leadership.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, sales, and finance partners to improve transparency, consistency, and usefulness of financial insights.

  • Identify opportunities to streamline reporting and enhance analytical tools, models, and processes.

  • Provide day-to-day guidance and mentorship to junior team members, helping build analytical capability and business acumen.

  • 3–5 years of progressive finance experience, with exposure to strategic finance, analytics, FP&A, or commercial decision support.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop structured insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to tell a story through numbers and communicate effectively with non-finance stakeholders.

  • Commercial mindset with curiosity to understand business drivers and challenge assumptions.

  • Experience supporting pricing, deal analysis, or client-facing businesses is a plus.

  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.

  • Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.

  • Intermediate math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.

CBRE carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate’s education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for the Finance Manager position is $120,000 annually and the maximum salary for the Finance Manager position is $140,000 annually. The compensation offered to a successful candidate will depend on their skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on CBRE’s applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
