Job Title: Field Service EngineerJob Description
In this role, you will be responsible for troubleshooting access controls and locking mechanisms, air flow, lighting controls, HVAC, and plumbing systems. You will play a crucial role in maintaining and supporting a variety of systems essential for our operations.
Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance on all products according to specifications and a predetermined schedule.
Provide warranty service and support on all products according to specifications.
Provide emergency service and support on all products according to specifications.
Review system installations and commence system commissioning.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in troubleshooting, field service, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Experience with HVAC systems and repair.
Capability as a maintenance technician.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of field service experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience reading blueprints.
Minimum 2 years of experience working around HVAC or plumbing systems, which could also be acquired as a hobby.
Work Environment
This role involves significant travel, with approximately 75-85% of the time spent traveling. Most customers are animal research labs, including prestigious institutions such as UW-Madison, Yale, and Harvard. The company covers travel expenses, and employees receive a per diem for hotel and food. You will need to advance costs for meals, hotels, and rental cars, approximately $2500 a month, which will be reimbursed. The role includes the use of a company vehicle, typically a small van. Expect to work approximately 400-500 hours a year, with more hours during training. Occasionally, weekend work may be required, but compensatory time off will be provided.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr.
