Cars.com d/b/a Cars Commerce Inc. seeks a Data Engineer in Chicago, IL.
Duties:\ Design, build and maintain robust high quality data pipelines at a team level\ Follow and improve best practices on your team, aligning to industry standards\ Collaborate with team to divide up work, pair on projects, and deliver following Agile practices\ Contribute and improve team\'s best practices and processes\ Provide quality documentation\ Able to understand ambiguous business problems related to your work and resolve them with input from team members\ Learn and grow your knowledge and skills beyond the associate level\ Participate in on-call support and improve data operations\ Work in close partnership with other Engineering teams, including Data Science, & cross-functional teams, such as Product Engineering\ Build data pipelines and derive insights out of real-time data using advanced analytic techniques and streaming at scale\ Develop and maintain mission-critical, highly visible real-time streaming applications\ Build, deploy, and support data pipelines into production
Develop reusable, production-ready real-time feature stores to manage and serve features consistently\ Develop robust, low-latency APIs to serve data for real- time integrations\ Help with Design of real-time applications, APIs and associated systems
Requires a Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related (or equivalent). Requires 2 years of experience in a Software Engineering, Data Engineering, or related occupation.
Requires 2 years of experience in the following:\ Python\ PySpark\ AWS\ Github or similar source code management\ Big data processing/spark
Requires 1 year of experience in the following:\ Kafka\ Kafka Connectors\ Relational databases
