Description We are looking for an experienced Controller to join our team on a long-term contract basis in Chicago, Illinois. In this role, you will oversee critical financial operations, including month-end close procedures, payroll management, and financial reporting. This position requires a strong background in construction, engineering, or project accounting.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and execute month-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
• Oversee payroll operations to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
• Perform bank account reconciliations and monitor cash flow activities.
• Reconcile balance sheets and address any discrepancies promptly.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure proper accounting for construction or engineering projects.
• Maintain and update financial records, ensuring data integrity.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard financial assets.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial processes and efficiency. Requirements • Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Strong expertise in month-end close procedures and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in bank account and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Demonstrated ability to manage payroll operations effectively.
• Background in construction, engineering, or project accounting is required.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and organizational abilities.
