Job Title: Construction MEP Project Manager - Quality Control
Job Description
We are seeking a Construction MEP Project Manager to join our Quality Construction group for a highly complex project in Chicago, IL. The role involves expertise in mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire suppression, and fire alarm systems, building codes, and construction principles. The successful candidate will engage with project stakeholders from preconstruction to project closeout, providing technical recommendations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
Provide technical design review feedback on constructability, sequencing, and industry best practices.
Conduct regular field reviews, document findings, and guide corrective actions.
Serve as a quality liaison between the project team and trade contractors, ensuring coordination and consistency in quality control activities.
Review technical processes with a strong background in construction, mechanical, and electrical systems.
Promote clear communication and collaborative problem-solving with all stakeholders.
Mentor teams and share technical knowledge while modeling best practices.
Stay current on industry trends and promote professional development to elevate quality standards.
Essential Skills
Minimum of 6 years of experience in MEP, mega-construction, mechanical engineering, or building commissioning.
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Autodesk Construction Cloud.
Valid driver’s license for accessing client property and travel to various sites.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
BCxP (ASHRAE Certified Building Commissioning Professional) or CQM-C (USACE) certification is desirable.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and critical/strategic thinking.
Capability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
Adaptability and quick learning skills.
Work Environment
The role primarily involves working on active construction sites, which may expose employees to environmental and job-related hazards, such as heavy machinery, elevated work areas, airborne particles, varying weather conditions, and potential electrical risks. Noise levels can vary from moderate to high. Employees must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) and stay alert to ensure safety. Physical demands include the ability to climb ladders and stairs, use personnel hoists, and navigate various terrains and active construction zones. Vision requirements include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Team members must be capable of using their hands to handle tools and materials, and perform activities such as sitting, standing, walking, speaking, hearing, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $54.47 - $100.77/hr.
