Bindery Operator 1st Shift (Temporary Project)
Location: Niles, IL
Pay Rate: \$25\$28 per hour
Duration: 1-month project
Shift: 1st Shift
We are currently seeking an experienced Bindery Operator for a short-term project in the Niles, IL area. The ideal candidate will have commercial bindery experience, particularly with continuous-feed folders. Experience with Polar cutters or Heidelberg stitchers is a plus, but not required.
Key Responsibilities:
Machine Operation: Set up, adjust, and operate bindery equipment including cutters, folders, and stitchers to produce books, magazines, and catalogs.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and customer specifications.
Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, preventative maintenance, and minor machine repairs.
Production Efficiency: Monitor production output, adjust settings as needed, and manage material flow to maintain efficiency.
Safety & Documentation: Follow all safety protocols, maintain a clean work area, and accurately complete production logs.
Qualifications:
Commercial bindery experience, especially with continuous-feed folders
Experience with MBO or Stahl folders preferred
Mechanical and technical aptitude with the ability to learn complex machinery
Strong attention to detail and quality
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor machine issues
Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move materials
Reliable, organized, and efficient work ethic
