Pay Range: $32.00 - $46.44 per hour

Summary:
Reporting to the Director of Multimedia Development Communications, the Assistant Director, Multimedia Development Communications, will support the video and multimedia efforts of the Strategic Development Communications team. Providing production assistance, this individual will work on multiple donor, volunteer, and alumni communication projects. This will include but is not limited to assisting in video production, presentations, electronic communications, photography and other multimedia efforts. The individual will be professional in their work, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all individuals inside and outside the organization. They should be self-motivated, reliable, sensitive to issues of confidentiality, detail oriented and flexible.

Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in telecommunications, journalism, marketing or a related field, or Associate's degree plus three years of work experience.
• At least three years of experience preferred in a creative agency, production company or nonprofit communications
• Excellent communication, organization and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize multiple high-priority tasks, and attention to detail
• Competency with Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite and native Apple software
• Experience shepherding multiple projects with overlapping deadlines from inception to delivery
• Growth mindset; willingness to learn new processes and technology
• Broad experience working collaboratively on communication-related deliverables; welcomes constructive criticism and strives for continuous improvement
• Professional demeanor
Preferred Job Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
Support all aspects of the production process for video, photography and other multimedia communications. Help coordinate shoot schedules, scout and prepare locations, interface with internal and external partners for project success, and provide other production support as needed.
Working with the Dir. Multimedia Development Communications, manage the Office of Philanthropy’s use of the ThankView platform for philanthropy-focused video recording and distribution. Implement and manage processes for producing and sending ThankViews to Rush donor and alumni audiences. Develop and deliver ThankView training for Philanthropy team members to expand and enrich donor, alumni, faculty and student engagement. Provide strategic direction for and manage ThankView projects with oversight from the Dir. Multimedia Communications, including production, timeline and review processes. Serve as the platform expert for ThankView and the primary point of contact on its use.
Perform video editing and design and build motion graphics. Manage material such as camera footage, dialogue, music and graphics to produce simple video communications for Rush donor audiences. Serve as videographer and sound engineer for Rush Philanthropy-driven on-site video shoots.
Work with the Dir. Multimedia Communications to craft scripts for videos produced within the Office of Philanthropy. Compile and review transcripts, help shape outlines and propose narrative flow. Produce photo shot lists and video interview prompts that engage donors and raise funds for Rush.
Support the photo communication efforts and needs of the Office of Philanthropy. Help to define a library of Rush Campaign photography and perform photo editing.
Coordinate with photographers, videographers and other creative professionals outside of the Office of Philanthropy to produce multimedia communications. Work with the Director Multimedia Development Communications to produce and execute photo and video shoots that support communication materials that engage Rush audiences. Work with the Director, Multimedia Development Communications to manage contracts and budgets for work with creative professionals outside of Rush.
Partner with Rush’s Marketing Communications department, Rush faculty and staff, Rush University Students and Rush volunteer leaders to produce content that raises funds, engages audiences and builds awareness for Rush. Develop prompts and questions that help them answer the question, “Why Rush, Why now?” to increase market share awareness and philanthropic giving to Rush.
Work with the Senior Graphic Designer, Marketing Communications and the Director, Multimedia Development Communications to support and supplement graphic design needs in the Office of Philanthropy. Use templates and guidelines to produce materials that engage donor, alumni, faculty, staff and student audiences.
Help develop and maintain a clear, well-organized repository of available strategic development communications content. Working with the Strategic Development Communications team, support the proactive sharing of content across the Office of Philanthropy.
Work with subject matter experts to produce brand-friendly and audience-appropriate multimedia event materials including presentation graphics, informational handouts and other event-related materials. Supplement graphic design requests for event-support materials such as signage, digital graphics, and support audio/visual needs.
Work with the Business Operations team to process Strategic Development Communications-related purchase orders and contracts.
Help to develop, pilot and implement tools to improve all processes listed within this job description.
