Job Title: Loan Officer Assistant - Entry Level

Job Description

The Loan Officer Assistant provides essential administrative and sales support to Loan Officers while delivering a high level of service to customers via phone and email. In this entry-level, training-focused role, you will learn the mortgage lending business from the ground up, assist with the loan process, handle basic customer questions, and gather information as directed by Loan Officers. You will also support marketing efforts through social media and proactive outreach to past customers. This position offers a structured path to grow into a licensed Loan Officer role, with comprehensive training, coaching, and a supportive, highly entrepreneurial team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to Loan Officers throughout the loan process.

  • Communicate with customers via phone and email to provide information about the loan process and answer basic questions.

  • Gather and verify customer information and documentation as directed by Loan Officers.

  • Manage a high volume of outbound and inbound phone calls in a phone-intensive environment.

  • Conduct outreach to past customers by phone to maintain relationships and identify new opportunities.

  • Support marketing efforts through social media, helping to promote services and engage with potential and existing customers.

  • Work with provided inbound leads and contacts to follow up with customers who have expressed interest in mortgage solutions.

  • Deliver a high level of customer service, building trust and rapport with clients.

  • Participate in an initial week of classroom training and ongoing coaching sessions to develop product knowledge and sales skills.

  • Begin making customer calls during the first week of training, applying newly learned skills in real-time.

  • Study for and prepare to take the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) test during the training period with the goal of becoming a licensed Loan Officer.

  • Collaborate with a knowledgeable team of experienced Loan Officers and operations staff to ensure a smooth loan process for customers.

  • Uphold company values by selling with integrity and focusing on positive, long-term customer relationships.

  • Actively pursue personal and professional growth with the goal of progressing into a Loan Officer role within approximately 3 to 6 months, depending on performance and business needs.

Essential Skills

  • Previous sales experience, preferably in a phone-based or customer-facing role.

  • Strong desire to succeed and willingness to learn the mortgage industry.

  • Motivated, competitive, and driven mindset with a focus on achieving goals.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and establish trust with customers.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with required utilization of Outlook for daily communication and organization.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, phone-intensive environment.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, follow directions from Loan Officers, and maintain attention to detail.

  • Commitment to studying for and successfully completing the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) test during the training period.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mortgage experience is preferred but not required.

  • A degree is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Interest in a career path that leads to a Loan Officer position.

  • Ability to engage customers authentically and sell from a customer-first perspective.

  • Openness to coaching, feedback, and continuous training.

  • Comfort using social media platforms for professional and marketing purposes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Chesterfield, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $31200.00 - $31200.00/yr.

The Perks: • Commission on Closed/Funded Loans along with state/local minimum wage base hourly • Work/Life Balance: 40 hours/week Monday – Friday • Paid Sick Time — 40 hours of paid sick time after 90 days of employment.
