City of Chesterfield Fleet Maintenance Mechanic in Chesterfield, Missouri
The City of Chesterfield is accepting applications for the position of Fleet Maintenance Mechanic. This position performs skilled and semi-skilled tasks in order to maintain and repair City-owned light and heavy-duty equipment, including vehicles and trucks. Performs preventive maintenance and inspections, including tune-ups and engine repairs. Replaces or repairs all components in City vehicles, trucks, and equipment, including electrical systems, air conditioning, transmissions, hydraulic systems, exhaust systems, radios, and brakes. Must be available for emergency call-ins, including snow removal. Works independently and with other mechanics under the general supervision of the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor.
Must possess knowledge of methods, materials, equipment, and tools used in fleet maintenance. A high school diploma or equivalent is required. Must meet all DOT requirements and possess a valid Class A Commercial Drivers License or have the ability to acquire a Class A CDL within 60 days of employment. Candidate must have one or more years of experience in a related field or an automotive and/or diesel maintenance trade school certification. Automotive Service Excellence certification or other comparable certification preferred.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a rate of pay starting at
$61,930 per year.
