Chesterfield Site Management Lead
YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of this role, Chesterfield Site Management Lead, are to:
Oversee all aspects of site operations, including legal compliance, site development, HSE management, tenant services, administrative services, infrastructure, and utilities to maintain license to operate and enable delivery of the R&D pipeline;
Act as the primary spokesperson to public stakeholders and lead the site leadership team, representing the Chesterfield site with authenticity and clarity;
Ensure a safe working environment with a strong focus on lab and greenhouse operations by providing oversight of health, safety, and environmental programs and ensuring robust site security and emergency operations for 24/7 site readiness;
Drive an outstanding overall site experience by ensuring facilities support a positive, engaging, and inclusive work environment that accommodates diverse work styles and fosters collaboration;
Maintain the laboratory supply network and build strong relationships with procurement, vendors, and local utility companies to ensure reliable utility feeds and uninterrupted operations;
Develop and execute a long-range site strategy focused on infrastructure and lab upgrades, including the management of significant CAPEX and OPEX budgets to support sustainable, future-oriented investments;
Forge and nurture relationships with local government, business leaders, and community stakeholders in the regional Chesterfield area to strengthen the site’s external partnerships and reputation;
Lead the Chesterfield tour program to engage high-profile internal leadership, global customers, and learning communities, showcasing the site’s innovation and impact;
Build a high-performing, inclusive team and talent pipeline by attracting, selecting, developing, and retaining diverse talent, and by designing frameworks for peer-to-peer feedback, performance development, and recognition that celebrate achievements.
WHO YOU ARE
Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field;
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in a business environment;
Proven ability to work effectively within a dynamic, cross-functional, multidisciplinary organization, building strong relationships across levels and functions;
Visionary leadership mindset to guide teams in defining outcomes that deliver on the mission and create long-term value;
Strength as an architect of systems and processes, shaping value-creating frameworks that unleash the passion and energy of people;
Demonstrated ability to act as a catalyst by removing roadblocks, facilitating connection and collaboration, and enabling teams to move with speed and clarity;
Coaching orientation with the ability to help teams learn, grow, and build the capabilities needed to create value for customers, colleagues, and stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 15 years of experience leading teams and developing individuals in complex, cross-functional environments.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary between $178,880.00 to $268,320.00. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc. This salary range is merely an estimate and may vary based on an applicant’s location, market data/ranges, an applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications, and other relevant factors.
