Logan Health Chester is seeking a compassionate, adaptable Physical Therapy Assistant to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. This opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, values community, and wants to help patients across a wide range of ages and care needs.
In this role, you will work closely with licensed Physical Therapists to provide individualized therapy services in a rural healthcare setting where your work truly matters. You may support patients in inpatient, outpatient, swing bed, and long-term care settings, helping them regain mobility, build strength, improve function, and return to the activities that matter most to them.
Whether you are helping a patient recover from surgery, improve balance and safety, regain mobility after illness or injury, or work toward greater independence, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

What You’ll Do
As a Physical Therapy Assistant, you will:
Provide 1:1 therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist
Assist in carrying out individualized treatment plans for patients in a variety of care settings
Support patients across the lifespan with rehabilitation needs related to orthopedic conditions, neurological events, post-surgical recovery, balance deficits, mobility limitations, and more
Help patients improve strength, endurance, mobility, gait, and functional independence
Accurately document treatments and patient progress in the appropriate medical record systems
Communicate effectively with therapists, providers, nursing staff, and leadership to support coordinated patient care
Adapt to changing patient needs and daily workflow while maintaining a calm, professional, and patient-centered approach
Minimum Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) program
Current Montana Physical Therapy Assistant license or ability to obtain
Current CPR certification (BLS or HS AED CPR)
Minimum one (1) year of Physical Therapy Assistant experience in inpatient and outpatient settings preferred
Strong clinical skills in mobility, gait training, therapeutic exercise, and functional support
Experience with modalities such as E-Stim, Ultrasound, and Diathermy preferred
Excellent communication, organization, and critical thinking skills
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with electronic medical record systems

Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
PRN positions (also referred to as Casual, As Needed, or Per Diem) at Logan Health offer flexibility and are designed to provide coverage during busy periods, employee absences, and vacations, making them an excellent opportunity to support the team as needed. PRN employees can participate in a matching 401(k) plan and have access to the Employee Assistance Program. Additionally, they may qualify for hourly differential pay for certain shifts or hours, offering extra compensation based on department-specific scheduling needs. Pay rates and scheduling practices may vary by department.
