Job Title: Reclaim / Scrap Operator

Pay: $17.00/hour

Openings: 1 Day Shift | 3 Night Shifts

Position Overview

The Reclaim/Scrap Operator supports Machine Operators by recycling scrap aluminum and maintaining a clean, safe production environment. This role plays a key part in keeping operations running efficiently by reclaiming materials and assisting with housekeeping and machine clean-up.

This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to get started in manufacturing, demonstrate reliability, and grow into a full-time production role.

Shifts & Schedule

  • Day Shift: 1 opening

  • Night Shift: 3 openings (6:00 PM – 6:15 AM)

  • Schedule Rotation:

  • 2 days on / 2 days off

  • 3 days on / 2 days off

  • 2 days on / 3 days off

  • Candidates must be able to work night shift if assigned after training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas

  • Follow all safety, environmental, and Lockout/Tagout procedures

  • Assist with scrap aluminum processing and recycling

  • Peel protective film from sheets and operate material separator

  • Draw ATH for proper disposal and assist with machine cleaning

  • Remove and sweep debris from burners and machinery

  • Support supervisors and team members with training and cross-training

  • Maintain a valid forklift license (as issued by Mitsubishi)

  • Wear required PPE at all times (safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the department manager

Physical Requirements

  • Stand for extended periods during a 12-hour shift

  • Perform frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting, and reaching

  • Occasional squatting, crouching, and overhead reaching

  • Push/pull materials using a pallet jack

  • Lift up to 30 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally

  • Climb ladders and stairs

  • Work safely around moving and heated industrial equipment

  • Maintain correctable eyesight and manual dexterity

Qualifications & Skills

Preferred Experience:

  • Production, general labor, packaging, or material handling

Additional Qualifications:

  • Willingness to cross-train and learn multiple production tasks

  • Desire to grow within a manufacturing environment

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented setting

Work Environment

This role is located in a non-climate-controlled production facility with exposure to heat and varying temperatures. Employees work around large industrial machinery and moving equipment, requiring constant focus on safety. PPE is required at all times. The environment is fast-paced, physically active, and team-driven.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chesapeake, VA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
