BAE Systems Production Supervisor in Chesapeake, Virginia

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated, organized, and goal-oriented Production Supervisor to oversee operations and employees in the Production Department, reporting directly to the Production Manager. The successful candidate will have a hands-on approach to providing technical assistance and direction to production department employees as necessary to ensure the quality, cost-effective, and timely completion of work associated with all company projects for which the department is responsible.

The Production Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing personnel-related functions, including performance management, counseling, and recognition. They will also train employees in technical knowledge, safety, environmental, and communication areas. Additionally, they will oversee and monitor project completion schedules, investigate late activities, and assist with project supervision and the development of practical solutions to issues preventing timely and effective project completion. This will involve reviewing project schedules and budgets during the planning phase and providing feedback to ensure that projects are completed on time and within budget.

The Production Supervisor will also play a key role in ensuring that employees are pursuing company goals for Safety, Quality, Productivity, and that they comply with company policies and procedures. Furthermore, they will be involved in the hiring and supervision of employees, terminations/reorganizations, and employee promotions. The Production Supervisor will be required to assist the production team when not performing administrative duties and will work closely with the production team to ensure the smooth operation of the department.

This position is located in Chesapeake, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Chesapeake or surrounding areas.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

  • High school diploma and 10 years of related supervisory experience, preferably in a military, manufacturing, or production environment with demanding customers and tight deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to plan and schedule work assignments.

  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members throughout the organization to provide resolution to a variety of problems that may arise.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data, prioritize tasks, and adjust to changing circumstances.

  • Ability to use discretion and judgment in making operations and personnel decisions.

  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office programs and similar software.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to perform competently in high pressure, high stress situations.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

  • Bachelor s degree in a technical or management field.

  • Previous experience with communications systems integration.

  • Knowledge of Project Management Professional (PMP) principles and methodologies.

  • Knowledge of solder techniques and cable fabrication.

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $75254 - $127930

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
