U.S. Marine Corps CONSERVATION LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER in Cherry Point, North Carolina

Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will enforce criminal laws of the U.S. to include Federal, State, and local natural and cultural resource regulations pertaining to wildlife, fisheries, plants, historic resources, trespass, and other applicable environmental regulations. You will maintain accurate records in order to support long-term investigations and collects appropriate data. You will perform all duties of a Conservation Law Enforcement Officer in accordance with MCO 5090.4 (Conservation Law Enforcement Program). You will coordinate and conduct land and water surveillance of MCAS Cherry Point property in four counties on foot, in vehicles, ATV's watercraft and aircraft. You will participates in and supports wildland fire suppression operations and prescribed fire on Cherry Point property and property controlled by other agencies with whom Cherry Point maintains cooperative agreements for wildland fire. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Assisting senior officers in the investigation of suspected violations of criminal and civil regulations of natural resources and performing routine and special law enforcement operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws. GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Conducting investigations of suspected violations of criminal and civil regulations of natural resources and performing routine and special law enforcement operations to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental laws. Education In lieu of Specialized Experience listed above, an applicant may qualify based on one of the following conditions: GS-07 I have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education. OR I have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement. OR I have a combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent. GS-09 I have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree. OR I have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree.
