Job Summary
Strong hands-on experience in Mainframe Modernization including Reengineering Rehosting Replatforming etc.
Strong experience in designing Hybrid integration patterns (APIs event streams MQ MuleSoft and file transfers) that connect COBOL CICS components in mainframe with cloud (AWS Azure or GCP).
Proven experience in developing and implementing CICS web services using RESTful or SOAP APIs by exposing mainframe logic as REST or SOAP services in mainframe and modernized platforms.
Responsibilities
Expertise in z/OS Connect including designing implementing and validating OpenAPI-compliant services for z/OS subsystems (IMS MQ Db2 and CICS) using the z/OS Connect API toolkit .Good knowledge in design develop publish and maintain RESTful and SOAP APIs and microservices using IBM API Connect.Exposure to Gen AI tools (GitHub Copilot Gemini Swimm IO etc.)
Exposure to Cloud platforms (Azure AWS Google etc.)
Key Technical Skills (Must have) COBOL CICS JCL VSAM DB2 IMS/DB IMS/DC MQ z/OS connect Python Java
- Secondary Skills: MuleSoft AnyConnect API connect Docker Kubernetes (EKS/AKS/GKE) Event-Driven (Kafka Event Hubs). REXX C#. Integration Architect Skills
Proficiency in z/OS Connect for RESTful API integration.
Experience in Creating implementing and assembling REST SOAP and GraphQL APIs using API connect
Experience with IBM MQ for messaging-based integration.
Expertise in CICS/IMS DC ISC calls over SNA and CICS as a web service.
Familiarity with screen scraping techniques for legacy systems.
Experience in technically leading an integration team in modernization projects by using AI-assisted cloud-native architecture.
Should be able to lead and manage the integration team providing guidance on architectural solutions for mainframe modernization projects and be hands-on when required.
Capable of developing prototypes or conducting proof-of-concepts for complex integration scenarios such as API enablement messaging systems or hybrid cloud-mainframe architectures
Innovation/Automation Skills
Designing innovative API-led integration strategies to expose mainframe functionalities as RESTful or GraphQL APIs enabling seamless communication with modern systems.
Using AI/ML tools to analyse and optimize integration workflows detect bottlenecks and predict integration failures for proactive resolution
