Engine Installation & Cooling System – Job Description
As the Engine installation and Cooling Design Engineer, he/she will design and develop cooling systems, cooling schematics and general engine install systems for heavy earthmoving machines. He/she will be responsible for providing engineering and related services, executing projects from the conceptual stage to production, participating, engaging, managing and/or delivering engineering services including concept modelling, design freeze, and/or analysis.
He/she should be a motivated individual with sound time management skills with an ability to manage his/her own workload and to coordinate design efforts with other on-site and off-site engineers to provide cost effective, reliable and manufactural designs to support project timelines.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
General
As system/component design engineer, advise and answer engineering questions which comes from cross functional team and customers, frequent collaboration with Supplier development Engineer, Buyer, Product support team.
Prioritize workload and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Exhibit Excellent organizational, communication and presentation skills. Willing and able to collaborate with international teams in various time zones.
Installation
Design & detailing of Engine installation & cooling systems (Groups, assemblies, and components).
Experience in light structure design & detailing.
Design and routing of fluid systems (tubes, Hoses, molded hoses, ducts, etc)
Work on Creo (Fluid lines design, Sheet metal, Solid modelling, castings, etc)
Responsible for cooling system, air intake system, exhaust system validation activities including analysis, test planning and post processing test data.
Quality
Provide engineering solutions to fix quality issues, e.g. NPI issues, production quality, CPI issues.
Cost
Provide solutions for component cost reduction and re-sourcing.
Should cost modelling of EIC components.
Proficiencies/Capabilities - ideal
Completed a minimum of 1 New Product Introduction (NPI) project
Successfully closed a minimum of 1 Continuous Product Improvement (CPI) project
Complete a minimum of 1 product cost reduction project
Experience collaborating with suppliers to ensure manufacturing feasibility.
Participated in a machine build.
Participated in a machine validation test.
Require limited direction but collaborate extensively with peers and process partners
Follow all applicable design guide standards and product development processes.
Innovate new ideas and leverage existing/new technology to drive cross-product synergy.
In-depth understanding of the system and system interactions with the ability to make trade-offs at the machine level to avoid sub-optimization at the system level.
Ability to clearly organize and effectively communicate information in such a way that messages are understood and retained by others

Basic Qualifications required:
Bachelor’s degree with 4-8 years engineering experience or master’s degree with 2-6 years engineering experience in Mechanical/Automobile/Thermal Engineering
Complete understanding of design of cooling system and Engine installation components for Heavy Earthmovers
Demonstrated proficiency in Creo and/or other modelling and detailing tools.
Teamcenter PLM and Teamcenter Vismockup experience
FEA skills – Creo Simulate or any other FEA tool experience.
CFD skills – Any CFD tool experience (Optional)
Plant/Industry exposure
