Job Summary:
Caterpillar is seeking a well-qualified Principal Digital Product Manager with deep expertise in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, with a strong focus on Supply Chain Management (SCM). This role will own the vision, roadmap, and execution of D365 SCM capabilities for Caterpillar Dealers, ensuring optimized planning, procurement, manufacturing, inventory, warehousing, logistics, and asset-centric supply chain operations. Experience with Dynamics 365 Finance and Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement (CE) is considered an added advantage.
The role will drive the design and delivery of a scalable, integrated ERP solution that improves supply chain visibility, operational resilience, cost control, and dealer responsiveness, while enabling data-driven decision-making across Caterpillar’s global dealer network.
What You Will Do:
The D365 Product Owner collaborates with stakeholders to capture and define requirements that align with both system capabilities and operational objectives. Working closely with product development engineers, the Product Manager oversees and communicates progress across design, development, support, and maintenance activities. This role also champions continuous improvement initiatives to optimize D365 operational efficiency and enhance reporting accuracy.
Key responsibilities include:
Product Vision & Strategy
Define and own the product vision, roadmap, and release plans for D365 Supply Chain Management modules including Inventory Management, Procurement & Sourcing, Sales & Distribution, Warehouse Management, Master Planning, Asset Management, and Transportation Management.
Align SCM roadmap with Finance integration points such as costing, inventory valuation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Champion standardization through reusable D365 SCM templates and accelerators tailored for dealer and rental operations.
Position D365 CE (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service) as a complementary capability that enhances customer-facing and service-related supply chain processes.
System Ownership
Own and manage the D365 SCM and Finance product backlog, prioritizing features that improve supply chain efficiency, service levels, and operational scalability.
Stay current on Microsoft D365 SCM and Finance releases and evaluate enhancements for business value.
Oversee integrations across SCM, Finance, external partner systems, logistics providers, and CE using Dual Write where applicable.
Requirements Definition
Collaborate with supply chain, operations, logistics, finance, and dealer stakeholders to capture complex SCM requirements.
Conduct fit/gap analysis across D365 SCM and Finance modules, recommending best-practice solutions before customization.
Translate requirements into clear epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Coordinate with other product managers for cross functional‑functional requirements and roadmap planning.
Delivery & Execution
Oversee implementation and configuration of D365 SCM and Finance solutions.
Ensure solution quality through functional testing, integration testing, and UAT.
Support training, documentation, and dealer enablement for SCM and Finance capabilities.
Develop demos and artifacts showcasing end-to-end supply chain scenarios.
Release Management
Coordinate and validate business requirements to support timely and high-quality‑quality software releases.
Facilitate sprint planning, backlog refinement, and stakeholder communication to ensure business value delivery.
Partner with cross functional teams to manage release dependencies, clarify requirements, and maintain‑functional teams to manage release dependencies, clarify requirements, and maintain alignment throughout the development cycle.
Manage DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, and environment strategies for F&O and CE projects.
Oversee Lifecycle Services (LCS) and Power Platform Admin Center (PPAC), managing code branches, building pipelines, and releases across Dev/UAT/Prod environments.
Stakeholder Management
Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Caterpillar Digital leads, external vendors, and Caterpillar Dealers.
Lead workshops and discussions with finance, project operations, retail, and customer engagement stakeholders.
Change Management
- Work with the Dealer Advisory Board to identify opportunities to improve dealer processes, drive operational consistency, and manage change requirements across Finance, Project Operations, Retail, and CE.
User Training & Support
Collaborate with training departments to deliver user training programs, provide ongoing support, and address enhancement requests.
Produce product documentation, workflows, and playbooks to ensure dealer understanding and adoption of the ERP template.
Assist in resolving or remediating issues as needed.
What You Will Have:
ERP & Systems Knowledge (MS Dynamics 365 F&O + CE)
Deep hands-on experience with Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management and other module knowledge is mandatory which are outlined (Finance, Project Operations, Retail) and Customer Engagement modules (Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Marketing).
Strong background in solution development, technical architecture, and performance tuning.
Awareness of Microsoft release cycles and ability to assess new features for business value across F&O and CE.
Knowledge of ERP and CRM product lifecycle management, including adoption and change management.
Strong understanding of inventory costing, master planning, warehouse automation, global trade, and logistics execution.
Business Analysis
Skilled in gathering and documenting functional requirements, conducting gap/fit analysis, and mapping dealer business processes to native D365 functionality like SCM & Finance D365
Experience supporting KPIs such as financial accuracy, project cost control, customer satisfaction, and operational agility.
Ability to identify gaps in ERP/CRM processes and design system-driven solutions.
Exposure to global rollouts, multi entity implementations, and regulatory compliance.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking
Analytical skills to interpret ERP and CRM data/performance metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement.
Ability to support leadership with actionable insights for cost optimization, project efficiency, and customer engagement.
Familiarity with reporting tools (Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Dynamics 365 dashboards) for ERP and CE performance.

Preferred exposure to Leapwork , Azure App Testing, Playwright , with accepted proficiency in JMeter, Ranorex, Selenium, or equivalent platforms to validate customizations, integrations, and performance across F&O and CE modules.
Experience:
• 15–17+ years of demonstrated work experience in ERP technologies with 10+ years in Dynamics 365 F&O/AX.
• Proven track record as Technical Lead / Solution Architect in 10+ full cycle F&O implementations.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum/SAFe methodologies, PI planning, and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to global rollouts, multi entity implementations, and regulatory compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business & IT or a similar field.
