IBM L2 Network Engineer in Chennai, India

Your role and responsibilities
a) 24x7 support at Centralized NOC
b) Monitor alert from network devices
c) Escalation support for L1, provides input to level 3 team for
consulting, planning and change management process
d) Responsible for managing configuration changes based on
user request and to resolve assigned tickets/alerts on all network
devices of the bank
e) Addressing network issues on Routing, Switching and
configurations
f) Management of active network devices of LAN at
HO/CO/NDR/DC/DR and coordination with LAN vendor for
cabling issues and new cabling.
g) Will be responsible for identifying and resolving network
problems like application performance issues due to network
problems, routing/ switching issues, configuration issues,
hardware issues, OS issues, activating backup links in case auto
failover is not happening
h) Maintain network asset management and check availability of
backups
i) Coordinate with various telecom service providers as an
authorized representative with regard to all kinds of activities
related to links, such as commissioning / shifting / migration /
bandwidth upgrade / media changes / billing / decommissioning
etc. in coordination with NOC team
j) Ensuring availability and correctness of data displayed/reported
on the display solutions and reports.
k) Maintenance of hardware of all network devices of Bank
l) Shall coordinate and schedule maintenance activities as per
bank’s requirement
m) L2 engineers to coordinate with all Zonal Office engineers for
closure of tickets of respective regions.
n) Engineer Is responsible for resolving all network hardware/link
related issues which are escalated from L1, L1+ in coordination
with the supplier/service provider. In case the links are from third
party service providers, they need to log tickets, escalate and coordinate with appropriate Vendor/Service provider for
resolution within the defined SLA
o) Configuration fine tuning, patches, upgrade of devices,
firmware and user configuration
p) Part of Emergency Response Team
q) Coordinate with L1+ engineers deployed in Data Centres and
L1 engineers in Zones
r) Participate for DR drill activities. The Bank may demand
additional onsite engineers in DC / DR during such activities.
Successful bidder should oblige to this call without additional cost
to the Bank.
s) Responsible for IP Address Management (allotment,
configuration, Management and Modification)
t) Responsible to prepare documents and SOP (Related to bank's
network)
u) Incident Management and Suggesting changes as and when
required
v) Responsible to fix audit findings on all network components
w) Should provide User access report for network device from
the tools deployed by bank
x) Any Other work assigned by bank regarding network
Valid CCNP Routing and Switching or Equivalent or any OEM
Valid professional level SDWAN certification
Required technical and professional expertise
• Exposure to Networking Products: Familiarity with installation, maintenance, and repair of Networking products, such as Cisco, Juniper, and Teradata, including understanding of the technology, operating systems, and associated software. • Experience Working with Technical Tools: Knowledge of IBM tools, such as Cognitive Support Platform (Salesforce) and Watson Einstein Analytics, to drive automation and improve effectiveness of client operations. • Understanding of IT Engineering: Basic understanding of installation, customization, operation, recovery, tuning, and information technology engineering concepts. • Familiarity with Hybrid Cloud Environments: Exposure to onsite Infrastructure Services, maintenance, and consultancy for Hybrid Cloud client environments. • Basic Technical Troubleshooting: Ability to identify and resolve basic technical issues related to installation, update, configuration, operations, or performance of Networking products.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Familiarity with IT Service Management: Exposure to IT service management principles and practices, including problem management, incident management, and change management, is beneficial for this role. • Knowledge of Cloud Computing: Understanding of cloud computing concepts, including infrastructure as a service (IaaS), platform as a service (PaaS), and software as a service (SaaS), can be advantageous in providing technical support for Hybrid Cloud client environments. • Exposure to Data Analytics: Familiarity with data analytics tools and techniques, such as data visualization and predictive analytics, can be helpful in analyzing and resolving technical issues related to Networking products.
