Emerson Engineer / Senior Engineer- Planning in CHENNAI, India

Job Summary:

By joining us as Engineer/ Senior Engineer Planning, you will be handling the Effective PPC and release plans for the procurement, shop releases and sales on a monthly basis to minimize inventory, optimize load inside the plant and improve the sales.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Customer orders to be scheduled (SSD) within 4 days by Planner after MV/MS hold.

  • Planner to remove scheduling hold for SO then progress & and create the star (*) configured item.

  • Planner should refer Pre commit / E-prospectus/ Project prospectus, component material lead time, project inspection and shipment schedule as a guideline for order acknowledgement.

  • ATP will recommend schedule ship date based on customer request date and material availability. ATP is readily/automatically available and updated real-time via pegging tree window. Ensure Level loading and utilize plant capacity across value stream.

  • Update each Value stream/product family loading chart with latest backlog loading, planned capacity, max capacity on a weekly / monthly basis

  • MPS target to promise SO within 3wks, MPS should co-ordinate with buyer for supplier PO promise date to populate OPDSL in Oracle

  • Liaise with production /stores /Quality team on production plan on daily basis to bridge the gap.

  • Communicate with the operation team for the resource planning if any product family have huge surge demand.

  • Review with buyers/shop based on RICE130 for SSD 1 to 5 weeks and ensure release adherence

  • Review with buyers and rescheduling to be done based on RICE130 for SSD 6 to 16 weeks.

  • Ship set to be ensured for single lot shipment.

For this role, you will need:

  • Degree or related discipline, with minimum 3 to 5 years relevant experience

  • Knowledge of valve industry

  • Good analytical skills and presentation skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially in Excel and PowerPoint and the necessary skills to effectively utilize technology and systems specific to the department required.

  • Familiar with Oracle application of Betsy & Billy.

  • Experience in ISO 14001:2015 - ISO 45001:2018 - ISO 9001:2015 procedures & instructions

  • Ensure orders are scheduled as per the LT / SLT with buyer acknowledgement

  • Scheduling based on plant capacity & ATP and ensure Level loading.

  • 6-16th Weeks review with buyer and rescheduling based on SD report

  • 1-5 weeks (Frozen zone) review with buyers based on SD report

  • Generate monthly reports and presentations.

  • Discuss with buyers and reschedule the MPS for the Change order for unreleased orders.

Preferred qualification that set you apart:

  • Co-ordinate with supplier to cancel the open POs on supplier impacted by change order

  • Discuss with buyers and reschedule the MPS for the Change order for unreleased orders.

  • Review with buyers based on SD report shortages for released valve’s

  • Scheduling based on plant capacity & ATP and ensure Level loading.

  • Review of Firming & Unfirming work orders

  • CO Cost impact by Internal / Customer

  • Generate monthly reports and presentations.
