(Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, AWS)
Role Summary
We are looking for an experienced technical lead on the java backend/full stack development side who has a proven track record of leading high‑performance engineering teams and delivering scalable, production‑ready systems with speed and quality. This role requires strong technical depth, leadership capabilities, and effective collaboration with business and technology stakeholders across the organization.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
12+ years of experience as a backend/J2EE software engineer, with significant experience in Java-based enterprise applications.
Proven experience leading development teams independently in Agile environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead an Agile development team as part of an Agile Release Train (ART), ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and production-ready backend systems using Java and Spring Boot-based microservices.
Ensure first-time-right delivery by driving engineering best practices, quality standards, and thorough review processes.
Engineer application integrations using REST and SOAP APIs, messaging systems, and event-driven architectures.
Work closely with Business and Product teams and Solution Architects to ensure alignment with the product roadmap and architectural blueprints.
Mentor, coach, and guide engineers and analysts; assign work, enforce standards, and perform detailed code reviews.
Lead troubleshooting and triage of end-to-end system integration issues across applications, middleware, and infrastructure layers.
Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Platform, Security, and Production Support teams to deliver customer-centric solutions.
Participate in production support activities when required, including issue analysis and coordination to ensure timely resolution.
Demonstrate flexibility to occasionally align with US business hours for stakeholder interactions, releases, and critical production needs.
Technical Skills & Expertise
Backend & Integration
Strong proficiency in Java and Spring Boot for microservices development.
Hands-on experience designing and implementing RESTful and SOAP APIs.
Experience with API design standards using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
Solid understanding of data-driven design, enterprise integration patterns, and event-driven architectures.
Experience working with TIBCO BW.
Experience with messaging and event platforms such as ActiveMQ, IBM MQ, or similar technologies.
Cloud & DevOps
Experience working with AWS services such as S3, SQS, SNS, Lambda, Redis (ElastiCache), and OpenSearch.
Basic working knowledge of containerization and orchestration platforms including Docker, ECS, and EKS.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and build tools such as Jenkins, Maven, Git etc.
Understanding of infrastructure and cloud monitoring using AWS CloudWatch and Splunk.
Data & Caching
Strong experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
Working knowledge of NoSQL databases.
Experience leveraging caching technologies such as Redis to improve application performance and scalability.
Testing & Quality
Experience writing unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit.
Good to have exposure to Python for scripting, tooling, or automation use cases.
Strong focus on code quality, test coverage, and production readiness.
Security & Observability
Experience with API security mechanisms including OAuth 2.0, JWT, and token-based access controls.
Familiarity with logging and monitoring tools such as Splunk, AppDynamics, and similar observability platforms.
Additional Experience (Good to Have)
Exposure to enterprise integration frameworks such as Apache Camel, MuleSoft, Tibco BusinessWorks, or similar.
Experience working with rules engines such as Drools, OpenL, Blaze, or equivalent.
Understanding of Agile and SAFe methodologies.
AWS Cloud certifications and SAFe Agile certifications are preferred.
