Job: LifeSaver Gummies Processing Relief Operator

Shift: D Shift- 12 Hour Night Shift (follows a 2-2-3 Rotation)

Candidates must be able to work a 12 Hour Night Shift following a 2-2-3 schedule. Additional shift details will be provided in the interview process.

The LifeSaver Gummies Process Relief Operator is responsible for the LSG Processing Area from raw materials to WIP goods. They will be responsible for the overall performance of the entire Processing area. Process Relief Operator will be required to learn the skills necessary to keep the LSG kitchen and mogul running. The Process Relief Operator will be required to follow all safety and quality standards as well as support the factory's continuous improvement efforts. The department, including the Process Relief Operator, is responsible for meeting OEE as well as volume targets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Relief Operator is responsible for performing all duties while always adhering to the five (5) Principles of Mars.

Responsibilities of the Process Relief Operator include but are not limited to the following:

  • Following all safety procedures and working safely at all times to ensure the safety of themselves and the rest of the team. Such safety programs include, but are not limited to, strict adherence to the Lock Out Tag Out policies, proper PPE, monthly safety meetings, and Daily Safety Trigger System.

  • Ensuring the area is performing all necessary Quality checks, at the specified intervals, to ensure that only quality products are being made. Other quality responsibilities include making sure that materials are in good shape, proper materials are used, helping the CI Specialist in creating and maintaining 5S standards, and ensuring Good Manufacturing Practices are always followed. Proper documentation and accurate paperwork is essential.

  • Helping the CI Specialist to create & then follow standard operating procedures while running all equipment associated with the processing area to meet the OEE and volume targets. Primary production responsibilities will also include relieving associates for breaks so that equipment continues running. Planning proper and efficient changeovers are also a key responsibility of the Process Relief Operator. Communication skills are essential for helping the department and line work at an optimal level.

  • Supporting the factory efforts in both Lean and Continuous Improvement activities by participating in and leading meetings, identifying improvement opportunities, recommending solutions to improve factory metrics, participating in improvement teams, tracking CILs, participating in and facilitating AM and FMOS activities, while also performing and assisting with Basic Problem Solving cards to facilitate break down analysis.

  • Training associates on the equipment, standards, processes and TPM methodology for the area. Performing other administrative duties for the work center.

  • Process Relief Operator 's Production Lead may require specific assignments, projects or tasks away from Process Relief Operator 's designated job.

DECISION MAKING AUTHORITY, RECOMMENDATIONS

Process Relief Operator will be responsible for identifying AM improvement opportunities and making recommendations to their Production Lead or CI Specialist when an improvement opportunity is identified.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Training

Minimum: High School Diploma, or equivalent.

Preferred: Associates Degree, or higher.

Related Experience/Requirements:

Minimum: One (1) year experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment.

Preferred: Three (3) or more years of experience in a highly automated manufacturing environment, and experience on more than one (1) type of automated line.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

Minimum: Communication skills, leadership skills, basic math skills, computer skills, familiarity with MS Office, and problem solving / trouble shooting skills. Ability to work independently, Mechanical Aptitude. Must be in good standing in current role, must have line manager approval to apply

Preferred: Strong leadership and training experience. Strong MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint skills. Technical degree, certifications. Continuous Improvement/MSE experience.
