Job Description
Assemble new machinery followed by the manufacturing manuals, and connect them with existing ones based on engineering design.
Receive proper training from 3rd party vendors on equipment maintenance, and be able to pass down the information to other team members.
Troubleshoot machinery and equipment on production lines to recover from component failure.
Perform preventative maintenance on different machineries and equipment on a regular basis to minimize downtime hours.
Conduct equipment changeovers based on the production needs.
Abide by all safety protocols at work including Lock Out - Tag Out (LOTO), Personal Protective Equipment, Risk Assessment and Hot Work permits, etc.
Knowledge of basic electrical systems such as relay logic, variable frequency drives (VFD’s), different types of sensors and other general electrical components in order to support functions of the maintenance team as needed.
Fabricate or modify existing and new equipment to comply with functional and sanitary requirements i.e., UL/ETL, NSF
Set up production equipment daily
Install or repair pneumatic, hydraulic and water lines
Move heavy equipment to different areas of the plant using forklifts, powered pallet jacks and hoist systems.
Safely use scissor lifts and other equipment to reach heights of up to 50 feet.
Perform other duties assigned.
Qualifications
GED or high school diploma required
Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience in various food manufacturing machineries and equipment including but not limited to mixers, sheeters, different types of conveyor systems, meat grinders, fryers, freezers and packaging equipment such as sealers, baggers, cartoners, boxers, palletizers, etc.
Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
Ability to weld iron and stainless steel parts for machineries and equipment
Knowledge of Material Safety Data Sheet and the different hazards of chemicals used in the industry
Ability to safely
use industrial lathe and other heavy machinery to fabricate parts (shafts, coupling systems, etc).
Ability to use press and properly build custom sized hydraulic hoses so they can withstand their rated pressure
Ability to read AutoCAD drawings, blueprints and manufacturing manuals
Ability to work flexible schedule depending on the operational needs
Must be a team player with excellent people and organization skills
Computer literacy including MS suite, Google Apps and other professional software
Bilingual in Spanish preferred
Physical requirement including frequent lifting up to 25 lbs., occasional lifting up to 50 lbs., and infrequent lifting up to 100 lbs. For instances when employee is required to lift more than 50 lbs and 100 lbs they must work in teams of two or use the proper equipment and tools for the job/task at hand. Ability to walk on concrete and uneven surfaces for at least 2 hours or more; ability to sit, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; occasional working at heights above 10 ft; exposure to bright light, extreme temperatures, loud noise, dust, gas, chemicals, etc.
Pay Details: $28.00 to $35.00 per hour
