Job Title: Mill Operator
Job Description
As a Mill Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring that workpieces conform to specifications by utilizing various measuring instruments. You will have the opportunity to operate milling or planing machines and make adjustments to maintain specified tolerances. Your role will involve selecting cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths of cuts while applying knowledge of metal properties and shop mathematics.
Responsibilities
Remove workpieces from machines and verify their conformity to specifications using measuring instruments such as microscopes, gauges, calipers, and micrometers.
Ensure proper alignment of workpieces on machines using rules, gauges, or calipers.
Manually move cutters or materials, or use automatic feeding mechanisms to mill workpieces to specifications.
Observe machine operations and adjust controls to ensure adherence to specified tolerances.
Select appropriate cutting speeds, feed rates, and depths of cuts based on metal properties and shop mathematics.
Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, or work orders to determine workpiece specifications and establish tooling instructions, tools and materials needed, and sequences of operations.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in reading blueprints and layouts.
Experience in operating milling and machining equipment.
Knowledge of using calipers and other measuring instruments.
Experience in aerospace facilities.
Ability to operate CNC mill and Haas machines.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Experience in an aerospace facility is preferred.
Ability to work effectively with heavy machinery.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chatsworth, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $19.00/hr.
