Aerotek Mechanical Assembler in Chaska, Minnesota

Mechanical Assembler

1st Shift $22-23/hr

What You’ll Do

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings to determine materials and dimensions

  • Configure parts for proper fitment and fasten components using bolts, glue, screws, and other methods

  • Fabricate components based on specifications, schematics, and verbal instruction

  • Operate machines and hand/power tools required for assembly

  • Test-fit components prior to modifying parts

  • Measure, cut, and assemble plumbing materials (PVC, stainless steel, copper, galvanized)

  • Secure custom equipment onto metal frames

  • Test completed equipment to ensure proper functionality

  • Assist with preparing systems and loose components for shipping

  • Support receiving tasks and follow proper material-handling procedures

  • Maintain organized inventory and production areas

  • Participate in cross-training and support other areas as needed

Essential Skills

  • PVC and pipe-fitting proficiency

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints

  • Skilled with hand and power tools (drills, wrenches, saws, screwdrivers, etc.)

  • Experience in mechanical assembly or construction

  • Ability to use a tape measure accurately (inches and centimeters)

  • 6 months–1+ year experience using basic tools and performing mechanical tasks

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $23.00/hr.
