University of Virginia Registered Nurse (RN) - Main OR Weekend Program (Days 0700-1930) in Charlottesville, Virginia
The Weekend Program offers a weekend only shift schedule with enhanced compensation. The Weekend Program is a 12 month commitment to work 48 scheduled weekends in a 12 month period beginning with first shift worked with a Weekend Program Premium of $10/hr.
Travel allowance is available for eligible employees travelling greater than 75 miles one way.
Shift: Friday, Saturday, Monday (0700-1930)

Perform nursing duties within the Main OR, supporting surgical teams and patients.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care.

Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in a surgical setting (scrub and circulate experience required).

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
Experience: 1 year of relevant experience.
Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
When RN Clinician 2-OR has no previous OR experience he/she must successfully complete and pass final examination of the AORN Periop 101 Core Curriculum program within six months of hire.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping; Repetitive motion: passing instruments, lifting instrument sets. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 100lbs. May be exposed to cold, radiation, chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.
The starting base rate for this role is $41.50 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
