This role will be located in: Charlotte, NC. Position is Hybrid and occasional travel is required.
The Commercial Project Manager (CPM) - Finance Controller - will be responsible for commercial aspects related to projects—from the sales phase through execution to project completion. Responsibilities encompass proposal management, project performance measurement, planning, forecasting, and reporting. The CPM partners with Sales and the Project Manager during the project life cycle and interacts with Customers, Suppliers, Engineering, Procurement, Legal, other Commercial Project Managers, regional and national Finance colleagues, internal and external Auditors and other internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Manage the project throughout the Project Life Cycle
Oversee the bid preparation and approval process (Limits of Authority), review, evaluate and negotiate contractual terms with support of Legal department, evaluate risks and ensure conformance during project execution
Empower yourself as commercial project entrepreneur during the project execution phase from order intake, through design, delivery, installation and commissioning to warranty phase
Partner with the Project Manager in identifying, evaluating, and assessing risks and opportunities, and developing strategies and response activities to avoid margin slippage
Prepare and present commercial topics in internal and external project meetings and escalate critical issues when necessary
Manage customer requirements and stakeholder expectations with the Project Manager
Secure project target by enforcing stringent contract and claim management
Ensure compliance with standards, rules, and regulations, fostering a culture of trust and integrity (e.g. financial reporting guidelines acc. to IFRS and US GAAP, tax regulations, business conduct, signature rights, export control, EHS, ICFR/RIC etc.)
Manage Project Finances & Planning
Partner with the Project Manager to manage financial results, focusing on project gross profit, cash flow and minimizing non-conformance costs
Perform annual budgeting, monthly forecasting & cost control, cash flow reconciliation, and deviation analysis. Ensure accuracy of project books and records in SAP
Ensure timely invoicing, actively manage receivables, and maximize cash flow
Coordinate procurement efforts to ensure best bids within budget and compliance with customer contracts
Manage financial guarantees / bonds and insurance requirements
Encourage team accountability, foster team collaboration, and conduct lessons-learned reviews for continuous improvement
You will impress us with the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
Experience: 5+ years of work experience in commercial project controlling/management in construction projects
PM@Siemens - CPM certificate or equivalent
Required travel: 10-20%
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in business administration.
Resilience in managing complex projects and overcoming challenges.
Demonstrated ability to take initiative and adapt to changing circumstances.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Proficiency with SAP, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

The pay range for this position is $91,086 - $123,318 and an annual incentive. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications, and premium geographic location.
