TEKsystems Technical Project Manager in Charlotte, North Carolina
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to lead and deliver complex infrastructure-focused initiatives for a financial services client. This role will manage the full lifecycle of infrastructure projects, including server migrations, end-of-life remediation, cloud implementations, server builds, and decommissions. The ideal candidate has a strong technical foundation, proven project leadership experience, and is comfortable operating in highly regulated, enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure
Manage server lifecycle initiatives, including:
Server migrations (on‑prem to on‑prem, on‑prem to cloud, and cloud-to-cloud)
End-of-life (EOL) and end-of-support (EOS) remediation
Server builds and provisioning (Windows/Linux)
Server decommissioning and data center exits
Drive cloud infrastructure implementations (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments), coordinating with architecture, security, and operations teams
Partner with infrastructure, network, storage, security, application, and vendor teams to ensure aligned delivery
Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, RAID logs, and status reporting
Ensure compliance with financial services governance, including risk management, audit requirements, change management, and security controls
Facilitate technical discussions, dependency management, and issue resolution across multiple stakeholders
Manage project communications, including executive-level updates and stakeholder briefings
Ensure operational readiness, knowledge transfer, and handoff to support teams post‑implementation
Required Qualifications
7+ years of Technical Project Management experience, with a strong focus on infrastructure projects
Proven experience managing:
Server migrations and refresh programs
End-of-life / end-of-support remediation initiatives
Cloud infrastructure implementations
Server build and decommission activities
Strong understanding of enterprise infrastructure environments, including:
Windows and Linux server platforms
Virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware)
Data center and cloud operating models
Experience working in financial services or other highly regulated industries
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional technical teams and multiple workstreams
Strong skills in risk management, dependency tracking, and issue escalation
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure infrastructure projects
Familiarity with ITSM and project management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira, MS Project, Smartsheet)
Knowledge of infrastructure security, compliance, and audit requirements
PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project management certifications
Experience supporting large-scale enterprise infrastructure modernization programs
Work Environment

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $60.00/hr.
