A Snapshot of Your Day
The North America Siemens Energy Real Estate Project Manager will be responsible to oversee construction projects throughout NAM and ensure all projects follow Siemens Energy standards and are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. This person must have a construction background, with project management experience and a strong ability to communicate with internal and external partners. Working with external vendors and internal stakeholders, you will direct all aspects of each project within NAM to include: initial goal setting, scope development, project planning, procurement, contracting, project safety, overseeing construction works, overseeing creation of project budgets and
schedules, quality control, and project close-out.
This is a full-time position that requires flexibility of travel when needed (up to 40%). The position will be located within Charlotte, NC.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Direct, manage, coordinate, and provide support for NAM construction project operations from inception through close-out.
Type of projects include: office fit-outs, larger building maintenance works, ground-up office and industrial projects, and office / factory extensions Ensure SE’s Zero Harm Culture is incorporated in all projects from start to finish.
Align, communicate, and work with Project Sponsors and other business stakeholders to establish project performance goals, scope and plan, timelines and milestones, project estimates / budgets and track performance against planned goals, timelines and budget to meet the project objectives
Understand and direct construction projects with minimal interruption to operations and negotiate with operators to implement projects in the most cost-effective manner
Conduct presentations to executive leadership and Project Team on a regular basis throughout the project life cycle regarding project status, SE’s Zero Harm Culture policy performance, schedule and financial tracking, and business impacts
Ensure accurate records of daily logs, progress reports, and financial reports are being kept and maintained
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or applicable field
8+ years of experience in managing construction projects, architects, engineers or construction managers
Knowledge and understanding of construction methods, best practices and the ability to interpret design drawings and specifications
Demonstrated the ability to independently and effectively manage and direct multiple projects simultaneously in an extremely fast paced and changing environment; keep projects on time, deal with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and work with a diverse array of contacts and senior leadership
Advanced computer skills with MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, and MS Project) Project Management certification (PMP) or related coursework
Must be available to work extended hours and weekends when needed based on site operational needs; flexibility required.
