Our client, a leading organization in the technology and data management sector, is seeking a Platform Engineer (Secure Data) to join their team. As a Platform Engineer (Secure Data), you will be part of the Data Platform Engineering Department supporting cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and a proactive mindset, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Platform Engineer (Secure Data)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Need local candidates)
What's the Job?
Design and develop automated workflows for provisioning and supporting data services on OpenShift/Kubernetes platforms.
Build and enhance platform capabilities supporting data ecosystem components such as Spark, Iceberg, Ranger, and Superset.
Implement security controls and compliance measures to ensure data protection and regulatory adherence.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to operationalize secure, scalable data services at enterprise level.
Contribute to resilient architecture design and improve platform reliability through automation and best practices.
What's Needed?
5+ years of experience in Specialty Software Engineering or equivalent demonstrated through work, training, or education.
Proficiency in Python development for automation and service creation at an enterprise scale.
Experience working with containerized environments such as Kubernetes or OpenShift/OCP.
Knowledge of security fundamentals including least privilege, defense-in-depth, and secure SDLC practices.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and integrating security controls into delivery workflows.
