Robert Half Payroll Accountant in Charlotte, North Carolina
Description We are looking for an experienced Payroll Accountant to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will support payroll operations by ensuring accurate and timely processing, compliance with tax regulations, and proper accounting practices. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in the non-profit sector while leveraging your payroll expertise.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate payments for employees.
• Manage multi-state payroll operations, including compliance with state and federal regulations.
• Utilize ADP Workforce Now to process payroll transactions and generate necessary reports.
• Prepare and file payroll tax reports in accordance with applicable laws.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and reconcile discrepancies as needed.
• Collaborate with the accounting team on journal entries related to payroll.
• Support payroll audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
• Work with NetSuite and Paylocity systems to enhance payroll and accounting integration.
• Identify opportunities for improving payroll processes and implementing best practices. Requirements • Proven experience with full-cycle payroll processing.
• Proficiency in using ADP Workforce Now for payroll management.
• Strong knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations and tax reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as NetSuite and Paylocity.
• Experience in preparing payroll-related journal entries.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
