Robert Half Network Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina
Description
We are proactively building a network of Network Engineers for upcoming consulting and full-time opportunities with enterprise and growing organizations. These roles focus on supporting and improving network infrastructure across both on-premises and cloud-connected environments.
The Network Engineer will be responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, and high-performing network systems. This role works closely with infrastructure and security teams to support day-to-day operations while also contributing to network improvements and long-term initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain LAN/WAN network infrastructure across multiple locations.
Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, and firewalls.
Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
Support VPN connectivity and secure remote access solutions.
Assist with network upgrades, implementations, and system improvements.
Work with internal teams to ensure network reliability and uptime.
Maintain documentation of network configurations and processes.
Requirements
Qualifications
3–6+ years of network engineering or network support experience.
Experience with routing and switching in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with firewalls, VPNs, and basic network security practices.
Understanding of core networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Exposure to cloud networking (AWS or Azure) is a plus.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Experience
Experience working in hybrid (on-prem + cloud) environments.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools.
Relevant certifications such as CCNA are a plus.
