TEKsystems Netcool Engineer in Charlotte, North Carolina
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Event Management Engineer to support and enhance our enterprise Monitoring and Event Management platforms. In this role, you will contribute to platform engineering, solution development, automation, and operational support. You will work within established architecture standards, technology roadmaps, and governance frameworks while helping evolve next‑generation monitoring capabilities across the organization.
This position requires strong technical expertise, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to guide teams through complex engineering and support activities.
Key ResponsibilitiesPlatform Engineering & Support
Maintain, support, and enhance enterprise Event Management platforms aligned with internal standards and best practices.
Participate in and help coordinate scheduled maintenance and platform upgrade activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, integrate, and implement monitoring and event management solutions.
Technical Leadership
Guide and mentor teams responsible for operational support of the Event Management ecosystem.
Advise application, server, and infrastructure teams on optimal use of event management capabilities.
Solution Development & Automation
Develop, update, and test event management rules, policies, and integrations.
Build software solutions to automate manual or repetitive processes.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs and operational procedures.
Operations & Incident Support
Troubleshoot complex server, application, and event-processing issues.
Support service availability and respond to incidents as part of an on-call rotation.
Required Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience engineering and implementing the IBM Netcool Suite.
Strong proficiency with:
Netcool Omnibus
Netcool Impact
WebGUI
Cognos
Experience building Impact policies, Omnibus triggers, and custom rule-based event handling.
Hands-on experience with EIF, MTTrapd, MessageBus, Webhook probes, and custom probe development.
Working knowledge of OpenShift and Kubernetes environments.
Experience deploying or configuring IBM Cloud Pak for AIOps is a strong plus.

This is a Contract position based out of Charlotte, NC.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.24 - $73.68/hr.
