Job Summary
The Manager of Safety Standards is responsible for:
Supporting the evaluation of new suppliers from a food, electrical and operational safety perspective
Developing and recommending new procedures and approaches to safety based on feedback and available data
Facilitating the standardization of various digital safety management platforms, ensuring all options follow regulatory and company policies
Other duties as assigned
Key Responsibilities:
Supplier Evaluation
Coordinate with vendors to gather documentation for new supplier requests
Work with internal teams to ensure safe implementation of pilot vendors and new suppliers
Review electrical certification of equipment for conformity to regulations and company standards
Evaluate new equipment for OSHA and personnel safety concerns
Collaborate with hygienic partners to evaluate SSOPs for chemical risks
Operational Safety Strategy
Work with subject matter experts across various teams to create operational safety policies and procedures at the corporate level
Assist field operational safety team in enforcing policies based on safety regulations and codes
Digital Safety Management Platforms
- Support development, customization, and implementation of digital food safety management system platforms to ensure output meets regulatory and company standards
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Health and Safety, Safety Engineering, or Public Health preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Safety Experience in the Dining, Food Service industry preferred
OSHA 10 hour or 30-hour training preferred
Certified Safety Professional or Associate Safety Professional preferred
Experience in implementing occupational health and safety programs preferred
Skills & Competencies
Ability to interpret and apply a variety of laws, rules, and regulations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with attention to detail
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to quickly learn Risk Management Information Systems
Ability to work well with internal and external business partners
