Senior Jira Administrator (Atlassian SME)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 2 days/week on-site) Pay Rate: Up to $70.00 per hour ( Strict W2 Only ) Duration: 12 Months (High potential for permanent conversion) Compliance: No C2C, Third Parties, or W2 Referrals
Role Overview: We are seeking a high-caliber Senior Jira Administrator to serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our Atlassian Enterprise Cloud Platform. This is a mission-critical role within a high-stakes financial services environment, focused on enabling efficient SDLC processes and sophisticated task tracking. We are looking for a "hands-on" expert who can not only manage the technical configuration but also articulate their decision-making process to stakeholders.
The Ideal Candidate: This group is highly personality-based . We need an effective communicator who can speak confidently to their past projects, answer direct technical questions without hesitation, and act as a strategic partner to both development and executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise Administration: Full-cycle administration and configuration of Jira and Confluence across multiple global projects and teams.
Workflow Architecture: Design and implement custom workflows, fields, screens, and permission schemes to support complex business processes.
Governance & Security: Manage user access, roles, and security settings in strict accordance with financial industry compliance standards.
Metrics & Analytics: Define and maintain key delivery metrics and dashboards (Velocity, Throughput, WIP, Risk Posture) for operational and executive visibility.
DevSecOps Integration: Support the integration of Jira with CI/CD platforms, test automation frameworks, and governance processes (e.g., code scanning, change management).
Vendor & Roadmap Management: Review product backlogs, manage vendor relationships, and stay ahead of the Atlassian product roadmap to drive feature adoption.
Required Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
Certification: Atlassian Certified Professional (ACP) is REQUIRED.
Experience: 10+ years of hands-on Jira Administration experience in a complex enterprise environment.
Hybrid Proficiency: Proven experience managing both Atlassian Cloud Platform and Data Center environments.
Technical Depth: Expert-level knowledge of Jira Automation , ScriptRunner , and REST APIs .
Methodologies: Strong command of Agile, Scrum, and Kanban; additional certifications (CSM, CSPO, or SAFe) are highly desirable.
Scripting: Proficiency in Groovy, Python, or Bash is a significant plus.
Position Requirements:
Strictly W2 Only: We cannot accept C2C, 1099, or third-party candidates.
In-Person Collaboration: Must be able to work on-site in Charlotte, NC, twice per week.
