Job Description:
This job is responsible for building and leading a team to deliver technology products and services that meet business outcomes. Key responsibilities include developing a technology strategy, ensuring technology solutions comply with applicable standards, promoting design, engineering, and organizational practices, and advocating and advancing modern, Agile solution delivery practices. Overview:
Seeking a strategic and technically adept Infrastructure Financial Management Engineering Executive to lead, engineer, and operationalize the full FinOps ecosystem for Bank of America. This leader will design the architecture, data flows, operational processes, and governance necessary to manage the financial lifecycle of hybrid infrastructure resources (external cloud, private cloud and on‑prem). The role requires close partnership with product management, Finance, business partners, and Core Technology Infrastructure domain owners to deliver real-time and accurate cost transparency, allocations, chargeback models, and unit‑cost economics.
Key Responsibilities:
FinOps Architecture & Engineering:
- Design and own the enterprise architecture for FinOps across hybrid infrastructure, engineer real-time data ingestion, normalization, tagging, and cost‑calculation pipelines into a centralized FinOps platform and define standards that enable accurate cost modeling, unit economics, showback/chargeback, and forecasting
Financial Process & Governance:
- Establish enterprise‑wide processes for capturing, validating, and reporting financial data for all infrastructure resources, implement controls ensuring financial accuracy, auditability, and alignment with corporate finance requirements and drive adoption of FinOps best practices across engineering and resource‑providing teams
Centralized Reporting & Analytics:
- Deliver standardized dashboards, allocation reporting, budget views, and resource consumption insights for Finance partners and provide transparency into cost drivers, optimization opportunities, and variance explanations
Platform Feature Development with Product Management:
Strategic Alignment - collaborate with Product Management to define platform vision and roadmap that supports financial transparency and optimization; ensure engineering priorities align with business objectives, cost-saving initiatives, and compliance requirements
Financial Governance & Cost Optimization - partner on cloud and infrastructure cost modeling, forecasting, and chargeback/showback strategies; implement FinOps practices within the platform to monitor and optimize resource utilization; provide insights on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and ROI for infrastructure investments
Product Feature Development - work with Financial Management Product Manager to design and deliver financial management capabilities (e.g., budgeting tools, cost analytics dashboards, automated reporting); define technical requirements for features that enable financial accountability across infrastructure services
Strategic Partnership with Finance:
- Collaborate with Finance, Business, and Infrastructure leadership to define the financial strategy for hybrid infrastructure, translate financial needs into engineering solutions and implement the required capabilities and ensure financial partners have the tools and insights needed for allocations, budgeting, forecasting, and unit‑cost analysis
Engagement With Internal Resource Providers:
- Partner with compute, storage, network, database/middleware, AI platforms, container, and PaaS teams to ensure they provide accurate data to the central FinOps system, define and enforce data‑quality standards, tagging policies, and reporting expectations and ensure all resource domains understand cost models and their impact on the financial ecosystem
Responsibilities:
Builds and manages teams by performing financial activities to inform workforce strategy and hiring practices, setting and tracking maturity and quality objectives, and training employees/teams to address feedback and achieve quality and performance objectives
Facilitates performance and career development of employees/teams through performance reviews, coaching, and creating development plans that are needed to build competencies and skills
Manages solution delivery and application performance in production (app health, resiliency, performance, security, enterprise data management standards, audit exams and reviews), ensuring all relevant risk, financial, and compliance policies are met
Manages relationships with business and technology partners and leads and creates followership in Communities of Practice in the organization
Contributes to the technology strategy for their technical domain
Creates an inclusive and healthy working environment and helps to resolve organizational impediments/blockers
Ensures that execution is aligned with product strategy by working with product management and other stakeholders

Required Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in engineering, hybrid cloud architecture, infrastructure platform leadership, and/or FinOps engineering
Deep understanding of cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on‑prem infrastructure financial models and how they are technically implemented using IBM products such as Cloudability, Apptio
Strong experience with FinOps frameworks, unit economics, forecasting, and chargeback/showback
Demonstrated ability to design and operate enterprise‑scale technical and financial architectures
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate between engineering and Finance
Preferred Technologies & Tools including but not limited to: Cloud platforms: AWS, Azure, GCP, IaC: Terraform, Ansible
Containers/orchestration: Kubernetes, Docker, Helm, CI/CD & GitOps: Jenkins, Datastores: PostgreSQL, NoSQL, caching systems, Observability: Logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing tools
