District Manager

Position Profile

The Sales Leader drives, leads, and develops a team of Account Managers to demonstrate customer‑focused, consultative selling competencies within the assigned District. This role coaches the team to effectively leverage business and account planning, pipeline development, and opportunity management to achieve objectives. The position is responsible for delivering results through new business development and expanding services across the existing customer base. Additionally, this leader proactively manages the District P&L and adjusts strategies based on changing business conditions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities Sales Leadership & Execution

  • Lead a sales team to execute Ricoh’s Equipment and Services strategy, capabilities, standards, and actions.

  • Drive profitable equipment and services growth across assigned accounts, including contract retention, expansion, and upselling of additional services.

  • Lead New Business Development efforts with a focus on Ricoh’s hardware and market‑based services portfolio.

  • Drive market share gains in Ricoh’s services portfolio and champion the adoption of newly added services.

  • Hold Account Managers accountable for sales activities, achievement of KPIs, and closing deals to deepen account penetration.

Performance Management & Coaching

  • Establish clear expectations and create rigor through routine inspection of activities aligned to sales objectives.

  • Coach and develop talent, assessing strengths and identifying opportunities for improvement.

  • Guide Account Managers in the defined selling methodology to ensure they fully understand the fundamentals and consistently meet high standards.

  • Create development plans that challenge Account Managers to continuously improve and elevate performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with internal resources to align support, activities, and talent to deliver sales results.

  • Engage peers and specialty teams to address issues, solve problems, and enhance processes to support growth.

Business Management

  • Proactively engage to achieve financial targets.

  • Manage the business through effective execution of KPIs.

  • Drive gross profit across all lines of business.

  • Review District P&L and make adjustments to support business needs.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Certifications)

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.

  • 7+ years of experience selling products and services.

  • 5+ years of sales management experience.

  • Consultative selling experience.

  • Industry experience preferred.

  • Strong understanding of P&L management.

Working Conditions, Mental & Physical Demands

  • Typically works in a standard office environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and typical noise levels.

  • Work involves cyclical stress due to frequent goals and deadlines, as well as daily stress associated with decision‑making responsibilities.

  • Primarily sedentary work with occasional walking, standing, bending, reaching, and light lifting (typically under 10 lbs.).

  • Requires moderate dexterity and regular use of basic office tools (e.g., keyboard, calculator).

  • Requires periodic customer site visits, which may be in locations not serviced by public transportation.
