Acosta Group Director Customer Development in Charlotte, North Carolina
DESCRIPTION
Demonstrates deep expertise in the CPG industry, grocery retail landscape, and broader marketplace dynamics. Builds and maintain strong, strategic relationships across retailer functions, including Operations, Merchandising, Shopper Marketing, and Executive Leadership. Serve as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for retailer leadership, delivering best practices, innovative solutions, financial overviews, and meaningful engagement.
Represents CROSSMARK with the highest level of professionalism, reinforcing brand credibility and partnership value. Maintains a strong growth mindset, proactively driving sales while identifying and developing new service opportunities that enhance revenue, profitability, and long-term business impact.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Owns and is accountable for all controllable aspects of the regional P&L, including revenue, payroll, and T&E management.
Provides strong, values-driven leadership to a team of up to 15 direct reports, including Team Leaders and Customer Business Managers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on growth, collaboration, and ethical standards.
Delivers growth for CROSSMARK HQ clients at a rate exceeding that of the supported retailer categories.
Builds, fosters, and strengthens strategic relationships with retailer partners, ensuring alignment and long-term business success.
Initiate Top-To-Tops across all key retail partners, ensuring partnerships remain strong and growth opportunities for the brands that we represent are clearly identified
Identifies and pursues incremental growth opportunities beyond traditional HQ selling services, including retail services, marketing initiatives, and whitespace opportunities.
Maintains a deep understanding of retailer ISE/Fairshare programs, including methodologies and financial implications, to effectively manage business outcomes.
Continuously evaluates team performance, providing coaching and actionable feedback to enhance effectiveness and drive results.
Leads the execution of client strategies and plans, ensuring delivery of maximum value and measurable impact.
Development of long-term customer strategy and vision
Leading high-level negotiations or joint initiatives at the customer/retailer level (e.g. category, core items, innovation, etc.)
Managing business risks and mitigating performance gaps
Owns communication and knowledge transfer of customer/shopper insights, changes, and trends to relevant CROSSMARK stakeholders.
Analyzes and synthesizes data from multiple sources to identify opportunities for incremental sales, product expansion, and additional CROSSMARK service offerings.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or relevant experience
Experience:
15+ years in the CPG industry; 10 years of headquarter selling experience within the Grocery channel – East Coast retailers specifically; direct team reporting experience.

Physical Demands: Office – sitting, typing, answering calls, walking to meetings, etc.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Yes.
Work Environment: Office and field environment, with 20% or less travel.
Language Skills: English is the primary language skill; however, bilingual skills may be required based on business necessity.
