Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Acts as college resource and expert on all CHHS grants and contract activity; serves as the main contact in the college for grant fund management.

  • Processes release time, summer salary, permanent personnel actions, educational awards, assumptions of risk, payroll certifications, effort reporting, and other post-award duties as assigned.

  • Works with department administrative staff to provide guidance on purchasing, travel, and any other transactions related to grants

  • Approves grant transactions submitted by the units (pCards, purchase orders, travel, temporary hire actions, etc.) for the college and ensures that transactions fall within approved grant fund parameters.

  • Acts as college liaison for the college with the Division of Research’s ORS /post-award team on policies, procedures, reporting, compliance, grant closeout, and other post-award management topics.

  • Fund management for all CHHS external grants and contracts; tracking & reconciling transactions.

  • Other post-award duties include reporting, budget revisions, assumption of risk forms, cost share tracking, release time tracking, etc.

Minimum Experience / Education:

Required Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in business administration or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Preferred Education Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience with accounting and financial management

  • Knowledge of Banner, Niner Research, Malibu, 49er Mart, Concur, and other campus systems

  • Experience in higher education

  • Professional experience working with federal and state grants and contracts

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with very careful attention to detail and adhere to deadlines
