Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates will conduct and publish original research and seek funding to support their research agenda. Candidates will provide excellent instruction across the BS in Exercise Science and/or MS in Kinesiology curricula. Candidates may also have the opportunity to teach in other APHCS program areas based on expertise. Candidates are expected to mentor undergraduate and/or graduate students through varied opportunities (Honors projects, thesis/dissertation research, community engagement, workforce development) and serve on unit, College, University, and/or professional initiatives.
Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
A doctoral degree in Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Rehabilitation Sciences, or related discipline. A focused agenda for independent research in exercise physiology or a related discipline, with an excellent potential to obtain extramural research support. The ideal candidate’s research focus will contribute to and/or expand upon the current research interests of the department. Experience in teaching at the university level and involvement ACSM or related professional associations are ideal.
